This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. french door refrigerator freezer offers ample space to serve a family, but we found a few annoying issues. First the freezer drawers do not remain at the temperature we'd like. The temperature of the middle drawer reached 41° during our peak use test, which is the temperature needed to freeze ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature of the rest of the freezer remained at around 36 degrees.
The doors of the refrigerator also have handles with sunken handles that are difficult for shorter people to close. It may seem like a minor issue, but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, as they are easier to open and close.
This fridge is expensive however it is worth it for those who want a sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this fridge for those looking to upgrade their current refrigerator, or for those who are building a new home and want a more integrated design in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The RF23M8090SG is Samsung's newest and most stylish counter-depth French door refrigerator that retails at $4,200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also did well in our cooling test, however we're not a fan of the gimmicky handles or fragile crisper bins.
Bespoke is a feature that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It lets you personalize your refrigerator with removable colored panels. There are 11 colors to choose from, from soft pastels to brighter hues and four metallic finishes. Some of these panels can be customized with photos or text which makes the fridge a more personal touch point that can match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
The LED lighting can be switched to a different hue, which is a nice option. And the refrigerator's interior is finished with a sophisticated finish that helps reduce smudges and makes cleaning a breeze. The only real drawbacks of the RF23M8090SG are its crowded beverage center, and it takes some effort to open the door-indoor feature which houses a water dispenser as well as a pitcher. You need to look for a lever on the side of the door that is halfway across, and once you have it you will be able to open another door inside the fridge, which houses the docking station for pitchers, the water dispenser and two shelves for drinks.
The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is big enough to accommodate a large amount of frozen foods and comes with an impressive slide-out drawer system that allows you to get the food you're searching for without opening the whole compartment. This drawer is lockable with a password, so that anyone who isn't a good fit is kept out. It also has an LED that lets you see what's inside at an instant. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators provide an elegant design to any kitchen, and are a good fit in different sizes of rooms. Counter-depth refrigerators are the best option for those who want this look, but without the height. We've tested many of models, and this Frigidaire model has a higher than average score in our ratings due to its low cost and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.
It also has some irritating issues. Our test data shows the FGHB2866PF can heat up quite a lot in the freezer and become uncomfortable hot in the most inner shelves of the fridge. Our heat maps show how the temperature fluctuates minute by minute. The butter bin in the orange area on the right is particularly warm during our testing period. This might not appear to be a problem at first, but the fridge spends most of the time above 32 degrees.
It's also worth noting that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which may be a consideration for some buyers. The issue is that this fridge isn't a great choice. It's not equipped with the latest features and a durable construction, making it difficult to recommend it over more expensive models at this price.
In many ways, this Frigidaire feels like the stainless-steel version of a fridge you might see at your local appliance store. It's a great option with a brushed-finish that looks attractive and is impervious to smudges. However it's not offering much to differentiate itself from competitors who are more feature rich and less expensive.

If you're seeking a counter-depth French door refrigerator but don't want to spend a lot of money the FGHC2331PF could be worth looking into. It has enough storage space for many families, and does a good job of keeping food fresh. Even even if it's not an energy efficient model, it's a lot cheaper than our top-rated models.
